Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms swept through the state, bringing wind gusts hitting over 100 km/h.

Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact

Residents reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

At one point on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.

Weather Forecast

Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both regions.

Safety Concern

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
